A thought that is bound to flow through your mind once you take in the mesmerizing view of the city of lakes from the urban socialite at hotel Ashok lake view. A soothing vibe for some mellow and chill romantic time.

Located in the heart of the city, and owing to the natural contours of the landform, the architecture of hotel Ashok has taken full advantage of its elevation. Giving the vantage point to its restaurant- ThUS, they offer their visitors a picturesque view through three different styles and areas.

One single glance out of our hostel told us the weather was calling to us. Two phone calls, and dresses and heels on, we were on our way to answer the calls. And what better place than US for a perfect date to enjoy the breeze and rain.

Getting down at polytechnic chouraha and deciding to stroll up to the hotel. The four of us walked on, chatting, laughing, and feeling the drizzle on our happy faces.As we turned the corner, the majestic spiral staircase that never fails to capture our attention came into view. Taking the elevator up to the restaurant, we hurried in to find the perfect table. With three separate seating areas to choose from, an indoor air conditioned area with an entire façade of glass offering the cityscape view with colorful bright cushions pepping up the interiors The attic wall had , and two outdoor areas – one slightly traditionally designed with pointed arches, warm lighting, jaali work, round tables and an amazing aura. With this being the crowd favorite, it was already full so we decided to get a table in the other section, this one made in a more modernistic style with dim lighting, a more quiet ambiance and a view of the skyline.

Leaning on the railing we took a few moments to let the view seep in. with our eyes and minds at ease, we sat down to eat, after all dil ka raasta to peyt se hota hai!

We ordered lots of food and mocktails including  chilly chicken, cheese filled mushroom, veg lasagna and Mexican chicken pasta accompanied by spicy Iceland punch, Italian shooter, Screwdriver. Admiring the view we waited for the food. The food came in all at once and we were ready to dig in. Crispy mushrooms perfectly cooked dunked in white dip proved to be the star of the entire order. Although the pasta was not upto the mark but the chilly chicken and the veg lasagna made up for it. Over all the food was quite flavoursome and came in good quantity.

With bellies full of good food and laughter, huge smiles pasted on our faces, we walked back in the beautiful rain vowing to come again!
