Tattenham Corner| Bhopal
Thinking of treating yourself? Taking bae out on a date? Meeting office friends or a client over drinks? Looking for a classy hang out with friends?
The Tattenham Corner – lounge & bar, TT nagar, Bhopal is the place for you!
Amidst the grandeur of the Jehan Numa palace hotel is its own little English inspired bar – The Tattenham corner.
Laughing, chatting and strolling towards the entry to the
hotel, a window high up on our left side catches my attention. We look up to
see what caught my eye and immediately gasp. Never before on our previous
visits to Jehan Numa had we seen that window or what was inside it and knew
nothing about it, so we hopped over to the reception and started to inquire.
And just like that we came across this recently renovated lounge which was defo
the chicest and the most sophisticated bar in town and to our surprise budget
friendly too!
The warm light radiating through that white French window
and the wall behind the bar counter that held giant floor to ceiling shelves of bottles is what initially attracted us. Once we stepped into the bar
with light wooden flooring and furnishings, dark leather cushions, dark walls
and warm golden lighting, we were encompassed by the exquisite interiors and a
dazzling colour theme, so different from what we had seen anywhere in Bhopal.
The entire atmosphere was in its own way a little sensuous and yet calm. To add
to our delights the place still had a few more surprises in the bag. We soon found
out how it kept in sync with Bhopal’s culture of roof top lounges and had a terrace
which acted as a smoking zone and outdoor sitting area. As we maneuvered our
way outside, our surroundings changed from the indoor elitist to a more casual,
vintage garden décor. With white walls and trellises and black retro style
garden tables and chairs the terrace was a wonderful little addition especially
for those breezy evenings the capital of MP is famous for.
With our eyes at rest from all the beauty it was time to sit
back and enjoy the food and drinks. Tattenham offers a small menu of finger foods,
and quite frankly it was a relief from reading the long list of items on menus
that usually go around. The food turned out to be delicious and different.
Their dishes were a new avatar of the original dishes they had been inspired
from. The presentation of the food resonating the chic nature of its
surroundings. From beer to wine and everything fine :D the drinks were well
served and unbelievably reasonable and not to forget the complimentary chips to
snack on while you wait for your order.
And to satisfy all our senses, Tattenham has its own DJ for
party nights and one of the best music taste and playlists we heard in a long
time, we could hear our selves laughing and singing along, sometimes even the
most shy of us humming and swaying to the beats and rhythms
Awesome... Definitely a treat to eyes.

ReplyDeleteKurious kanyaa should also put up something which would give them the actual old Bhopal experience as well.
